Simeon’s Song of Peace

Luke 2:22-35

In Mary’s purification and in Mary and Joseph’s paying the redemption price of the first born, we are reminded again that Jesus was born in a low estate, and that under the requirements of the law. This was so he would be qualified to pay for our salvation. In Simeon’s song that follows, we are reminded that God’s coming into the world in the incarnation not only provides for peace with God, bust also the peace of God. This peace comes from knowing that God is with us and that he is faithful to his promises.
