A Community of Grace · Clinton, SC

Open Doors is designed to give International Students the opportunity to interact with local friends and families.
It’s a fun way to experience more of American culture than can be seen just on Presbyterian College’s campus.

There are two options to get involved, and you can participate in one or both.

  1. Sign up to have a host family. This family will spend time getting to know you, have you in their home for a meal, bring you along on an occasional family event, etc. The goal is a minimum of one opportunity per month. They will also invite you along to special events our church is holding—like an afternoon at the lake, a Fall Festival, a Christmas Party and more.
  2. Sign up to receive invitations only to the special events. If you just want to find out about the special events, you can sign up for that as well.

To sign up for a host family or invitations to special events, call Jim Roberts at 864-833-1275 or email him at jim@westminsterpc.net.

You can also stop by the Westminster Presbyterian Church table at the Taste of Churches event on August 22 (7-9pm outside Springs Campus Center) and sign up.

Also, make plans to attend the
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WELCOME DINNER
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 2, 6PM
At Westminster Presbyterian Church.

There will be a good southern meal, games, and opportunities to meet host families and practice your English.
RIDES WILL BE PROVIDED!
(BUT YOU MUST FIRST SIGN UP IN ONE OF THE WAYS ABOVE)

This program is hosted by Westminster Presbyterian Church, located just 1.7 mi (2.8 km) south of campus.  If students are interested in the cultural experience of attending an American church you are welcome to join us on any Sunday morning, but all of the events and the host families are available to any students who are interested, regardless of religious affiliation.
