Am I Going To Heaven?

The Problem: our sin separates us from God

– Romans 3:10-12
There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.

– Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

The Result: our sin brings death

– Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Our Hope: God first loved us and provided a way for our forgiveness

– Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

– Isaiah 53:5
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Our Hope: why Jesus died and how we can have eternal life

– John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

– Romans 10:9-10
If you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Our Security: God keeps his promises so we can have assurance of our salvation

– Romans 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If you would like to receive Christ as your Lord and Savior, ask him to come into your heart and cleanse you of your sins and make you a new person. Grow in your faith by reading the Bible, by talking with God through prayer, by telling others of Jesus, and by getting involved in a good, Bible-teaching church like Westminster Presbyterian.

If you would like to speak or pray with someone about your decision to follow Christ or about any questions you have, please call the church office during normal office hours. God bless you!
